Most users will likely have different tastes for gnome. Personally, I favor the MATE version of gnome 2, though that’s just my opinion.

I enjoy cinnamon... especially since it’s not the kind used by Elementary OS (though it’s not terrible if you’re looking for functionality, it just misses many features I see in Cinnamon)... and then there’s KDE...
