I understand the concern about copper wire theft from DSL boxes. It seems you're looking for a reliable antenna solution. Using your phone as a WiFi hotspot is a smart idea—your router can connect to your phone's hotspot, which then powers your CAT6 devices. I recall doing this during a cable internet outage when I needed to stay connected remotely.

Contact the provider for assistance. Understand that 5G speed isn't as fast as regular internet. The maximum data you get depends on the tower's capacity, which is shared among all users. 5G works best for occasional mobile tasks, not for streaming a large family in 4K.

They provide a modem/router combo, what ever antenna that has. Some of these boxes might have a port for an external antenna. But not all of them do. Hotspots tend to have limits. Where home internet does not. I think max T Mobile maybe gives 40 Gigs on a hotspot. But if you have their home internet you have a soft cap at 1.2 TB and then they slow service down after that.

Consider comparing AT&T with T Mobile and Verizon. That’s the plan. Also, look into any available wired services.

OP should review it and purchase an approved 5G antenna for installation on the roof or another spot suggested. This will help minimize signal loss caused by walls and the roof.

Each item is tailored to a particular frequency band. Miniature models suit Ku-band (12GHz), while larger ones work with C-band (3.7-4.2 GHz). No matter the design, the internal electronics only function within their assigned range.
