Heyho lovely Forum, before I'm writing anything more I have to say sorry if didn't understood all I'm not a native english speeker I apologise. okay let's start with my big issue I bought a Pentium G3258 for 10$ used and It got never OC'd. I managed to OC it to 4,5ghz with a Z97N Gaming 5 from Gigabyte at 1.444V, 16gb DDR3 1600mhz G.Skill Trident X. Cooler Master 212X, Be Quiete 500W PSU 80+ Bronce can't tell the exzact model number but its an older model, GTX970 Gaming G edition and my lovely iiyama Prolite XB3270QS 32Inch WQHD Monitor. I swaped out my main CPU (Xeon E3 1231 v3) to have a fun time while oc and while that my bad time began. I began to have such a bad time while booting. I'm getting when I'm shutting down the pc Black screens and I have to Reset the Cmos battery to manage it to boot. The Xeon which officialy supports DDR3 1600 can't boot with 1600 I have to Downgrade it to 1333mhz to have it booted and even on 1333 I have to Clear the Cmos battery to get a boot. I wrote with some people who helped me already but don't know the issue or they are out off idea. The last advise I've got was to make a Thread in this forum. Things I already done which didn't helped : - Memtest86 - try to boot with @stock speed - Checking dead pins - Bios updating - Checking of Damaged condensators If you have any more Advice or help I appreciate it Greeting
You can access the BIOS, which likely points to a Windows problem. Reinstalling Windows should resolve the issue, but first ensure you back up all essential data beforehand. This should help.
Yes and no! My windows is around one month old, it was reinstalled because I got the wrong version by mistake. It isn't Windows-based since I've never had problems with my Xeon, so it's likely an OC issue. Windows is up to date, thanks for the reply!
Welcome to the forums. I interpreted the issue like a motherboard problem. Have you tried any testing others recommended so far? I want to avoid repeating suggestions already made and tried. Here’s what I’ve done that didn’t help: Memtest86, booting at stock speed, inspecting dead pins, updating BIOS, checking damaged condensers. Each stick tested individually or together? Are the pins fine? Is the BIOS current or specific? Also, did you verify the capacitors?
They requested a review of Caps, RAM, PSU, socket, and BIOS version. I tested with Xeon and checked the components together, not separately. No dead pins were found on the socket. The BIOS is version F4 from 22.04.2015. I inspected the capacitors and confirmed none are open or leaking.
Don't stress too much about the questions. I reviewed the Rails 12v, 5v and 3,3v power supplies using HWInfo under load. I wish I had other PSUs nearby. Honestly, I only run CPU tests when my GPU isn't fully active. I don’t know much about PSUs—my only knowledge is that voltages should stay close to their Rails. I’m not sure if the CPU and GPU use the same voltages, which might sound odd. Sorry for the confusion. The only error I found was Failure 1002.
It seems you're working with a multimeter but don't have one. The Northbridge frequency is reading 3199.3 MHz.
