I've completed it before, so why not try again? This would be the first build using the LGA 1700, but it shouldn’t be much different from installing other Intel CPUs.

Absolutely, it's fine. You didn't do it incorrectly twice, so I think it's okay. Time to move on.

Hey, I figured out the fix for you. With the Gigabyte board, the issue likely comes from the motherboard not properly communicating with the CPU and DRAM. Since you've confirmed everything is compatible and built multiple systems before, the problem probably lies in the connection or power delivery. You might want to double-check the CPU socket alignment, ensure thermal paste is applied correctly, and verify that the motherboard's BIOS supports the z790 chipset version. If the lights keep switching, it could indicate a faulty chipset or driver issue—consider updating your BIOS or checking for firmware updates. Let me know what you try next!

It hasn't been powered on yet and was resting for a while... I assumed my Z690 Aorus Elite AX was dead when I assembled my system a while back. But I left it running while I went to check my wife's PC for RMA details. About ten minutes later, it came back to the BIOS screen. Starting up with DDR5 RAM can be slow. Are your RAM modules listed in the memory support section? Have you tried using q-flash plus to refresh the BIOS? If not, perhaps give it a try?

We're discussing the situation for more than an hour now. Your board has been idle since you posted the thread.

I switched to F9 BIOS now and found F10 isn't available. I'll try using F10 instead. If that doesn't work, I'll remove it completely, reattach the CPU, and rebuild the case gradually until it functions properly. Appreciate the guidance. RAM and all parts are listed as supported, except the M.2 SSD which is also supported via the Crucial support list using the Z790 Gaming X AX.
