Gigabyte Z77X-UP5TH preserves BIOS overclocking configurations without applying them.
I need assistance improving my system performance.
I have a Sandy Bridge core i7-2600k with a Gigabyte z77x-up5 TH motherboard. I adjusted the multiplier in the BIOS and it saves without issues, but when checking in CPUZ or the bios summary page, the speed remains unchanged. I attempted to tweak individual core turbo speeds, but nothing seems to affect it. It's strange that the bios correctly saves the settings, while other configurations don't seem to work. The only setting that appears to influence speed is BCLK.
However, using the Intel Extreme Tuning tool or Gigabyte's Easy Tune 6 seems to help. I prefer not to rely on those and instead set up the system through the BIOS.
Thank you for your support.
I figured it out after looking at some online information. Switching back through the BIOS settings resolved the issue. Now I can observe the changes happening. It looks like the newest BIOS version has problems.
