Checking the system details, I'm having trouble getting the post feature to work. I thought flashing would help with the 13th gen Intel/DRD5 setup, but it hasn't resolved the issue. I've tried various RAM settings, USB sizes, and updated BIOS versions (F20, F22, F21). The LED still doesn’t change between CPU and DRAM even after multiple attempts. If you have any advice before upgrading to a Z790 board, that would be really helpful!

Welcome to the discussions! Are you connecting the Q-flash USB port on the rear I/O to update the BIOS? The process involves loading the BIOS onto the USB thumb drive and connecting it to this port. The QFLED will handle the flashing during operation. When the flashing ends, the BIOS update is finished.

You're connecting via USB using the BIOS in the correct port and have completed the flashing process, yet the issue persists. The LED lights on the motherboard indicate something is still wrong.

Have you checked if the system runs properly with only a single RAM stick in the second slot, not touching the CPU?

I’ve actually seen some folks manage to post by inserting a single stick of RAM into the B1 slot, so I thought I’d give it a try myself—turns out it didn’t work either. Others mentioned needing USB 2.0 instead of USB 3, which I also tried. I also heard it could depend on the USB size, so I partitioned it down to 8GB from 16GB, but that didn’t help either haha.

I might be mistaken, but there could be problems with Gigabyte Z690 boards and the 13th gen Raptor Lake. @RONOTHAN## has more insight.

I observed that the parts list references the Z690 Aorus Elite, yet the rest of the entries specify DDR4 models. The BIOS files for DDR5 and DDR4 are entirely distinct, and using the incorrect one would cause the issues you're experiencing. The flash drive must be FAT32 and connected to a particular USB port on the back of the machine, labeled as the Q-Flash USB port.

I also have the DDR5 model; do you recall the support section for that motherboard? It doesn’t appear on Gigabyte’s main site.
