Gigabyte Z490 gaming module with 12-pin power connector
noticed the z490 gaming x byu gigabyte byte includes an additional 4-pin connector at the top. my cooler master gx 550w 80+ only has two 4-pin connectors, whereas my motherboard provides three. (z77x d3h) would adding an extender to convert a 4-pin to an 8-pin work? or should i look for another option?
Avoid the extra 4pin when your CPU isn’t a 10900k and you intend to push it hard. Justifying such a CPU won’t strain your budget with a new PSU.
You're targeting a 10900k processor, avoiding overclocking to prevent minor performance drops with the XTU, and opting for a motherboard that doesn't require overclocking.
You're after the absolute most energy-consuming CPU ever released for a common system. What can you anticipate?
