Gigabyte Z370M D3H XMP support confirmed.
I own an i5 8600k and a gigabyte z370m d3h board. The problem with the board is its extremely unstable behavior with XMP. I've tried two different setups: Trident Z 3600mhz 16gb (8*2) and now Corsair Vengeance 3200mhz (16*2). Usually, XMP activation should happen smoothly after selecting it in BIOS and restarting... The strange thing my board does is it keeps struggling to initialize XML. If it somehow works by chance, it functions well. I used the Trident kit at 3600mhz for several weeks until I had to open the RAM. Every time I opened it or reset the BIOS, things would restart. Whenever I turned on XMP, it caused boot failures, restarts, and BIOS resets. If it somehow worked by luck, it kept running for days or months... but that’s just luck. Activating XMP is really frustrating. What I’m wondering is... am I unlucky because I got cheap RAM kits? Or is my entry-level Z370 motherboard just not powerful enough to handle XMP?
