Hey there! I've been following Linus for a while now and decided to join the forums to ask questions. About nine years ago, I bought a gaming PC for college—it performed really well. The motherboard was included in the post description. Sometimes it would loop during boot, especially around 2015, and later it would keep looping after entering BIOS. I can access the BIOS but don’t know what to do next. I was hoping someone could help, as I’m not sure if the board is still usable. I prefer keeping it for nostalgia but now used new boards are nearly $1000. Any advice would be great!

Press F12 to open the boot menu and choose your storage drive (referred to as Hard Disk IIRC). Your recent problems are noted, but it’s hard to pinpoint the current issue.

Have you ever replaced the windows? It could be something simple there. Could you bring a backup drive with you to test installation elsewhere? If not, maybe it’s the simplest solution available. There are many other possibilities, but what’s the issue here?

Update on the situation. Initially, the system ran smoothly for several weeks. I received a post code C1, which from Gigabyte indicated memory problems. I replaced and re-seated the RAM, following manual instructions to fill the orange slots first before the black ones. Now back to post code C1—could the RAM experience intermittent issues?
