Thanks for your info, the problem happens less now but still occurs. Adaptive power has helped but i wish it would stop entirely. If its a known bug are there known fixes or am i forced to endure my fans screaming at me every 2 minutes when playing intensive games.
It seems the issue might still be present despite recent updates. If you can switch to "normal" mode, try it—this should not impact performance. Changes in usage might activate the adaptive boost more than before, which aligns with the intended behavior. Haha, probably not likely, or it could be a manufacturing problem... but it seems more likely a settings issue or some bug. That’s also possible—did you adjust the fancurve? That might explain the same behavior. Yeah, it’s strange; I had that too. Now with a different driver it returns to normal and high performance mode. Seriously, try DDU in safe mode—it should help. I bought mine using PayPal credit; originally it was 700 euros, but with PayPal it was 750. That’s fine, especially since 2000 series cards weren’t much cheaper (German prices are a mess). I really wanted an Igame Vulcan OC, but they cost over 1000 from Ali Express... way too risky and pricey lmao.

I completed the DDU process and updated the drivers. Initially, I used Furmark because it reliably initiated the ramping by clicking between the render and my second monitor before switching back. Adaptive didn’t cause any ramping, which was encouraging. Then I launched “Holdfast Nations at War,” a game that consistently triggered the ramping after about 15 minutes of play—though this disappointed me since my fans started getting upset. To provide more background, I purchased this GPU a few weeks before it reached its second year, and the ramping issues began this year as far back as I can recall.

I doubt something is super wrong... but its hard to say... is the card dusty, etc? Also read my previous post i think u should set it to optimal and try just 1 monitor . what about custom fancurves, overclocks... And can you do a run with GPUZ? Its hard for me to interpret the hwinfo64 stuff... In GPUZ set it to show max and play or run something for 15 minutes or so (until it spikes i guess)... (also 4000rpm? just odd to me my card maxes out at like ~2500 o.o)
The reference to 4000 RPM shows up repeatedly when people talk about gigabyte cards. I haven’t adjusted any custom fan settings for my GPU, and I’ve set the case fans to “silent” in BIOS with some smoothing active. My temperatures seem normal. Regarding overclocking, I don’t know how to proceed beyond enabling XMP for RAM and raising DRAM voltage from 1.2 to 1.35 as per a YouTube tutorial—though neither of these steps relate to the GPU itself. I think the card is still in good shape; I cleaned it thoroughly earlier this year using compressed air, thinking my temps were just high. If needed, I could replace it for a clean slate. It’s currently running at optimal settings, and I’ve been monitoring for a few hours without issues. I’m considering a second monitor, but I’d be disappointed if I couldn’t get one. I also thought about reinstalling the Asus GPU tweak after uninstalling it months ago because of a bug that would crash most programs on startup—no idea how it might affect me.
