Gigabyte R9 380X or GTX 960
Gigabyte R9 380X or GTX 960
I enjoy Gigabyte and especially the G1 Gaming GPUs, as they are straightforward and perform well at overclocking.
I’m familiar with the GTX 960 OCs but generally, the R9 380X performs better. Both are currently priced around $200.
Does the R9 380X offer a similar level of overclocking compared to the GTX models in the G1 Gaming line? It seems hard to find specific details on that.
After the overclocking process... does the GTX’s 1.5Ghz still stand out, or does the 380X take the lead?
The 960 competes with the 380, which is faster. The 380X offers roughly a 10-15% improvement over the 380, making it significantly quicker than the 960. Although the 960 supports overclocking, it still lags behind the 380X in performance until that gap is closed. Once the 380X is optimized, you can further boost its speed. Therefore, there’s no real benefit to choosing the 960 over a 380X.
