Hello, fellow PC lovers! I'm starting my first build in a while and could use some guidance. The problem is with my B650 Gigabyte Gaming X AX DDR5 board—after installing everything, I'm trying to boot into BIOS but the RAM (Kingston Fury 5200, 8GB x2) isn't showing properly. The DRAM LED stays red, and I'm not sure what's going wrong. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thanks a lot, Nazar.

Entering BIOS is common. The system starts or remains in BIOS? Have you checked for the newest BIOS update? Recent versions include memory compatibility enhancements.

Thanks for your message. I appreciate your quick response. I haven’t installed Windows yet, just wanted to review the build before adding the case with the MB following Linus’ PC guide—the longest one I’ve seen. Would it be fine to go ahead with the Windows install despite the problem? Also, just to clarify, is it normal for the system to show 4800 speed even though XMP for 5200 is enabled?

Consider updating the BIOS first. It seems your current one may not handle your memory modules or their rated speed. The red warning LED disappears when you turn off XMP settings.

Initially the system booted red and XMP was turned off by default. I enabled it believing a RAM speed variation could affect performance.

Consider installing the operating system and checking its functionality. A future BIOS upgrade might enable it to run at its intended speed. You might also attempt adjusting the memory settings manually. Above all, ensure the system boots properly and remains stable.

I rebooted the MB once more and the LED is gone. The RAM is running smoothly at a good speed. Thank you!
