Gigabyte H410m S2 V3 fails to power on due to Adata 3200MHz RAM issue.
Hello everyone, I recently bought an Adata 16GB 3200MHz U-DIMM DDR4 stick (AD4U320016G22-RGN). When attempting to start my system, three beeps appeared and the boot process failed completely. After swapping in an 8GB DDR4 2133MHz module and updating the BIOS to the latest release, the issue persisted. It worked on several other boards, including a generic "Consistent" H110M board, but not on my setup. I believe the motherboard automatically reduces RAM speed if it exceeds the supported maximum (2933MHz here), yet it didn’t do so for this board compared to others. I also learned from someone that the H410M board has been tested with 3200MHz RAM from other manufacturers and functioned properly. Unfortunately, I haven’t found another 3200MHz RAM to test on my board.
System Specs: CPU – Intel i3 10100F
Motherboard – Gigabyte H410M S2 V3 rev 1.1
GPU – Zotac Dual Fan GTX 1060 (3GB)
PSU – Corsair CV 450
Anyone have an explanation for why my board isn’t booting with this RAM? Your advice would be invaluable. Also, I have another odd problem with my old RAM on this board, which led me to purchase the new one. I’ll address that in a separate thread unless it could help solve the current issue. Thanks ahead for your support!
