Hello! I'm about to overclock my i7 6700k and this is my first time doing it. I understand the usual steps would involve changing BIOS settings, but I wanted to check out Gigabyte's EasyTune software first. I'm curious if I can adjust the multiplier and voltage there, which seems feasible in the Advanced CPU OC panel. I didn't intend to use AutoTuning or any preset profiles.

I'm wondering how reliable these changes are—do they actually affect the BIOS, or do I need to reapply them every time I restart? It's not a big deal; I can test the system and then switch back to BIOS to save the changes (or maybe use Adaptive voltage, which seems missing in EasyTune).

Keep using the BIOS, it gives you greater flexibility in adjusting settings. The overclock is activated at startup instead of after the OS boots.
Software-based voltage adjustments might not work well at startup.
