I intend to pair the Ryzen 3600 with it. The old motherboard unfortunately stopped working. Assistance needed in choosing between the two options. I have two 2666Mhz RAM kits that can be overclocked up to 3200, but I’m unsure if they support 3600 on the new board. Would either work better? Your main concerns are VRMs and audio quality. The ASUS model seems to offer superior audio features, while the Gigabyte version has a better PCIe X1 slot placement. I use the X1 slot for my Wi-Fi card, and it limits me from getting GPUs with more powerful coolers. I had to purchase one. I’d really appreciate knowing which option is preferable. I also checked some A520 boards; they looked okay but lack overclocking support. I don’t require overclocking—just a method for undervolting, which isn’t possible on the A520.

The audio system uses the same ALC887/897 chip. Power supply should be 50A for Asus and 75A for Gigabyte, and it includes a heatsink.

They both fit within the 5600 CPU limit, depending on their BIOS capabilities. The GIGABYTE features a more robust VRM setup with a heatsink, though the advantage is minimal for gaming with CPUs at 5600 or below. Neither board originally supports a 3600 MHz clock speed. BIOS updates can occur if the boards sit unused for extended periods. Newer models generally don’t support these speeds unless specified by the manufacturer. Their ratings are essentially similar, and the main differences are minor. You can likely get good performance with a budget GPU if you're using higher resolutions. The Realtek versions on each board aren’t drastically different in this regard.

Obtain a B550 at roughly the same cost as the B450. It will back PCIe Gen 4, and may include additional capabilities.

Since the chip is identical in both cases, their effect remains unclear but may still matter depending on your setup.

It differs in India. The ASUS and Gigabyte boards I referenced are about $60 locally, while a similar b550 board begins around $100. I’m looking for PCIe Gen 4 SSDs, but right now it’s not worth spending $40 or more.

Are you certain the Gigabyte model supports over 50A? Regarding the heatsink, I have a couple of small aluminum blocks at home that I can pair with the ASUS motherboard. Power delivery is important to me since I’ve heard about AMD’s 5500X3D, which might replace the Microcentre eexclusive 5600X3D. If it matches the 105W TDP, a better 75A VRM would be beneficial. I might consider buying that chip later. But if the new 5500X3D runs at 65W due to lower clock speeds, it should work fine. Because of higher import costs, most B550 motherboards are more than double the price of B450 models in India.

well I have ASUS Prime B450M-K and the audio is as good as it gets on such a cheap MB, haven't had any buzz or weird static using the case's jack ports u can get there later, gen 3 isn't turtle slow, though Gen 4 isn't just for M.2, it's also for PCIe 16x slot for the GPU, so it's possible to lose little bit of performance if you were to use PCIe 4.0 GPU, but not really that much unless you bought very very high end GPU I suppose

You're using the same board, just almost identical. I'm not sure why there are differences between I and II. Do you have any experience? Are there any drawbacks? I'm running a Radeon 6700 XT and planning to buy a 4070 Super GPU in about five years. I'm hoping it will work with PCIe Gen 3, and I'm okay with a 3-5% drop in FPS.

It seems you're working with a system that doesn't require Prime II. You have a single M.2 slot, GPU slot, and one case fan slot. Your setup includes three 1200-core Ryzen processors, and after upgrading to a 5600, everything is running smoothly. The only thing needed was a BIOS update before the upgrade since your current version didn't support the new processor. That's all set!
