Gigabyte B450M DS3H with Ryzen 5600X Windows setup issue
I purchased a package consisting of a B450M DS3H and a Ryzen 5600X with an updated BIOS to F63A. I attempted to set up fresh Windows on my M.2 SSD, but whenever I booted from the USB flash drive during installation, I encountered blue screen errors with stop codes like SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION critical process died 5. The IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL kmod exception wasn't handled, leading to a kernel security check failure and a kernel mode trap that sometimes froze the system at RAM initialization. It seems I missed handling two or three of these issues, and at times just got stuck at starting RAM: Adata XPG Gammix D10 4GB, 2666 GPU, ASUS GTX 1050 Ti M.2, 500GB drive. My power supply was a Corsair CV650, which I later swapped for the Ryzen 1200. Everything worked fine after installation with the 5600X, but I haven't tried it again with the 5600X. Anyone have a solution for these problems?
Did you carry out these steps?
1. Ensure all SATA and USB devices are unplugged; only the M.2 drive should be active.
2. Navigate to the BIOS settings, locate the CSM option under the boot section and disable it.
3. Select the secure boot setting below and choose a different operating system—avoid Windows UEFI.
4. Under key management, remove any secure boot credentials.
5. Insert a USB stick containing a UEFI bootable Windows 10 ISO.
6. Press F10 to save changes, exit, and restart the computer.
7. Windows will begin installation on your NVME device since it has its own built-in driver.
8. Upon rebooting, press F2 during startup to return to BIOS; the boot priority will now show your NVME drive.
9. Revisit secure boot settings and set it to Windows UEFI mode.
10. In key management, install the default secure boot keys.
11. Press F10 again to finalize installation and close the process.
Once operational, power off the PC and reconnect any additional SATA drives.
i followed all the steps you mentioned. When the system started, it prompted me to choose the installation drive. Mostly it showed a blue screen error during the selection process. The keyboard layout and language options didn’t progress past the installation screen. Once I installed Windows with the Ryzen 2 1200, everything worked smoothly for over an hour. There were only occasional crashes, but i couldn’t see them because the computer restarted frequently. This was mainly due to copying files from the SSD to the HDD during setup. Everything else seemed normal afterward.
This was the first action I took when problems began, yet there was no improvement.
4gb isn't that much—maybe switch the slot? Is the CPU okay? Plug everything back in and check the GPU.
For Windows setup it works, I used a different 4GB drive. If the CPU failed, I’d remove and replace everything along with the GPU.
