I purchased a prebuilt pc with a gigabyte a320-ds2. I noticed in several articles that you can't overclock this motherboard, yet I was able to adjust the CPU frequency in BIOS after changing it. If I left the BIOS settings unchanged, could I still attempt to overclock it?

Certain motherboards support this kind of "overclocking," which pushes the CPU to its maximum boost speed. It's beneficial since it avoids dealing with voltage adjustments and other complications.

So just a turbo boost without changing the voltage levels. Thanks man.

it doesn't detect the fundamental speed increase after overclocking, yet maintains the same rate.
