Hello. You’ve sold your gaming rig and kept two storage drives full of essential files. You’re assembling a PC using old hardware like the Q6600 and GTX570, and you’re trying to install Windows. With only two drives and both partially filled, you’re looking to access them, shrink one partition, and create a fresh Windows installation without reinstalling. There’s a possibility of making a live USB with Windows directly, or you could work with NTSF partitions and a Ubuntu live disk.

You can simply install Windows onto a USB drive and it will start up automatically. I've tried this before, though I used Mac's Bootcamp method instead. It's unclear what works best for Windows since the system won't allow installation to a USB stick.
