I have a Gigabyte GA-Z77X-UD4H running Windows 7. Recently, I installed Intel Rapid Storage Technology and it was functioning properly for a while. However, during a virus scan I encountered an error that caused a BSOD. After uninstalling it, the issue persists. My BIOS doesn't recognize AHCI mode, even though RAID works correctly. When I try booting from Windows loading screen, it crashes. If RAID were enabled, the problem disappears. I see only the optical drive and some SATA drivers, though I’m unsure why. When using RAID, everything loads without issues, but without it, the boot is slow and unstable. I removed all RAID volumes, uninstalled storage drivers, reinstalled them, reset the CMOS, removed and re-plugged the SATA cables, but RAID still won’t engage. I suspect the SSD failed because Windows only detects my HDD drives, not the RAID setup. It works in Windows but not in BIOS. I’ve reinstalled Intel Rapid Storage drivers on the motherboard, yet the SSD remains unresponsive. Could be a hardware issue or driver conflict. Please help me resolve this and thank you!

reboot the system, certain devices need two connectors that you can short using a screwdriver to restore functionality

I performed this multiple times and even replaced the CMOS battery to achieve that.

It seems you're suggesting a limited option. Would you like to know more about it?

You cannot transition from RAID to AHCI, and vice versa. It's generally not recommended to do so. To reach achi properly, you must format Windows and restart again.

If it were true, why isn't your other HDD recognized by the BIOS? You haven’t configured RAID on it, and it’s just a 1TB drive while your main drive is larger.

I understand it's been a while, but I wanted to wrap this up. My thought is the drives stopped working or there was a BIOS issue (despite updates). I now have a fresh PC and won't use IRST anymore. Thanks for your assistance!
