Well.. there's like 5 years of R&D between the two, and one's built on 12nm the other 7nm... I would hope the performance difference would be dramatic!

CPUs definitely play a role. There’s a reason they keep getting better and more refined, not just for making money, but because early companies like Ryzens were popular mainly because they were more affordable than Intel while still offering decent performance and some advantages. Even back then, there were limits, but it’s clear they could still outperform in certain areas.

Absolutely, I'm confident. I'm even optimizing for 4K with my 5900x setup. Extra performance is typically seen in the lower frame rates or higher highs. This doesn't imply a game that's impossible to run at 500fps on the CPU.

Most people see only about 30 frames per second, but 5800X... runs smoothly at 5K internal resolution.
