Getting Bad Performance In Games When I Shouldn't?
Over the past month I've observed poor performance in my games, especially frame drops when I think I shouldn't be. My setup includes a GTX 970, an FX 8370, 24GB of DDR3 1600 RAM, but I'm unsure why this is happening. It occurs across various titles like Overwatch and GTA V. Please assist.
In games like GTA, this behavior isn't random—it often occurs during driving or specific in-game scenarios. Afterburner charts typically show spikes or patterns indicating high power usage, which can happen while accelerating, taking sharp turns, or engaging in combat. These visuals help players identify when their vehicle is consuming more resources unexpectedly.
Utilization and power levels remain stable, core clock performance is consistent, VRAM usage stays within bounds, and GPU activity consistently approaches full capacity.
It seems the power supply unit might be the issue. Voltage changes can impact performance in a way similar to what you're experiencing.
