I own an AMD FX8350 that remained stable at 4.2ghz (stock 3.6). I chose to attempt another O.C by resetting it through AMD overdrive, but after clicking default my computer restarted and the screen began flashing black every second on the log in window, causing me to be logged out whenever I tried to log in. I restored BIOS settings to their original state and the issue continued! But in safe mode it worked? What’s happening?

Reset your system completely, remove the MB battery, and access the CMOS bridge.

I discovered the problem!
I had to start in safe mode and run msconfig /services / hide Microsoft services / then turned off a service named "AODservice", which was used by amd overdrive and caused my CPU to malfunction at boot.
Disabling AODservice allowed me to log in normally and later removed AMD overdrive, everything worked now!
From now on, I’ll only use Overclock for through bios.
Avoid AMD overdrive!!

Some people choose to overclock using AMD Overdrive because it allows them to rely more on the BIOS settings instead of manual adjustments.
