I recently settled into a basement suite with my partner and realized we needed to improve our network setup. Since the router is on the opposite side of the room, we’re looking for a way to extend our internet connection effectively. The suite’s layout isn’t ideal for strong WiFi coverage due to limited visibility to the router. I’m planning to install Cat 5e or Cat 6 cabling along the ceiling edges to connect our workstations. I’m unsure about the best method to secure the cables without causing too much damage to walls or ceilings. Do anyone have tips on this?

You can find cable raceways or molding-style ones to aid in matching the appearance. Here are some links:

Aim for raceways whose adhesive color aligns with your wall tones. I once chose black adhesive on white surfaces, only to face stubborn residue after removal that marred the finish and required extra effort to avoid painting damage.

To ensure a polished appearance, consider using crown molding.

Thanks for the advice and resources. Exploring Canadian pricing for raceways turned out similar or better, especially with a higher-quality router and bridging your gateway. Just a thought—setting this up might cost you your security deposit, so I guess that’s a risk to consider *sigh*
