Hello, I'm considering an overclock for my FX 8300 to ensure stability and safety. Someone can assist me with this? I've never done an overclock before. My system includes a CPU, 78LMT motherboard, USB3 R2 RAM, and 32 GB of DDR3 at 1333mhz.

Overclocking your CPU means increasing its speed beyond the default settings. You're doing it to potentially boost performance, especially for gaming or demanding tasks.

For that configuration 4GHz should be achievable, though I wouldn't go overboard. The VRM configuration on this board is quite basic, featuring only the 4+1 phases, so you'd need to keep things moderate. Fortunately, the 8300 chip runs at 95W, which is lower than many multi-core FX processors, giving some flexibility. You wouldn't be able to push it to 20x and hit 4GHz, but it's doable. It's possible to extract 4GHz from the chip with less than 1.40V, though this isn't guaranteed. I've managed it before, but the difference here comes from using a better board (Crosshair V-Z) that avoids voltage sag. Adjust the settings carefully to keep the system stable at 4GHz—use only the CPU voltage needed for stability, set the CPU-NB around 2400, and choose a suitable RAM divider (1333 or 1600). Keep the voltage above 2400 only if necessary; Vishera chips generally struggle beyond that. Running it hotter is possible, but with the weak VRM, it's not ideal. The stress on the VRM increases with speed, so be gentle and enjoy the performance.

It’s clear the board’s capabilities are restricted, but it can perform some overclocking. Based on what I’m observing in the BIOS, it seems to support only basic adjustments. If the chip can achieve 4.3 at the actual voltage, it must be a high-quality component. When using a voltage offset to exceed what’s displayed in the BIOS, I don’t see it. For reaching 2400 from their CPU-NB, he’s applying a significant voltage—something I’ve never encountered before. The maximum I’ve ever needed was around 1.20 volts. I did mention he enabled Load Line Support (VRM) at “Extreme,” which likely played a role. Still, even though it works (as shown in the video), that doesn’t confirm success for this setup. There’s no certainty about achieving any overclock without testing it directly.

what voltage should i use? is it for the cpu or the nvid video control? i’m not sure, but the pc starts up and the monitor blinks when i open windows.

Glad you posted the BIOS pic - Makes it easy to say what to do. 1: You'd need to set the CPU Clock Ratio manually to 20x. 2: Then set the CPU NorthBridge Freq to 2200 as shown. 3: Core Performance Boost is set as "Disabled" in the vid, you have to do that manually. 4: HT link to 12x 5: Set RAM ratio to either 1333 or 1600, what it's set for will be off to the side as shown in your pic. 6: System Voltage Control to Manual; 7: Then set the first three options to Normal *NOTE: Some DDR3 sticks need more than 1.50v's to run, it depends on the set you have. Basically all can run 1.65v's without issue but 1.60v's should be plenty for nearly any set you'd probrably have. The sticks should have a label on them with the spec'ed voltage for them and whatever it says, go with it. If (I stress IF here) the board's selectable DDR voltage range doesn't go up as high as what the stick's label says, just max it out and try it anyway but don't go above 1.65v's period.* 8: CPU Voltage Control to 1.3125V's 9: CPU NB VID Control to about 1.22v's - 1.26v's is high so you may be able to go lower and be OK, depends if the board can run it that way or not. Then F10 (Save) the settings and see if it goes. It may start to boot and cut off, then start back up on it's own a couple of times, then work - That's normal for alot of boards to do. If you get the OC'ing failed message the settings won't work and you'll have to experiment from that point on. The adjustment you can make is to reduce the CPU Clock Ratio (Multiplier) by a single increment and retry, doing this each time it fails until it actually boots the OS if you have to. Good luck.
