Hi, I've been enjoying playing as a mage on ranked lately. Recently, I've mostly seen hunters and sometimes secret paladins. I'm trying to build a deck that resists being ganged up on by hunters since I keep losing often. I still want to use my deck for other classes because I like the style. It's a casual Hearthstone player who made this deck myself, which is why I shared it here. I'm currently rank 10 and playing mostly hunter with occasional secret paladin. My deck includes Dr Boom, and I'm considering adding spectral knight or kel'thuzad—though I'm cautious about high-cost minions. Also, what kind of deck are you aiming for?
Your hand is a mix of mech mage and tempo, with a slight focus on tempo. Both styles perform well, but you need to lean more into one category. Tempo usually comes out stronger. Here are some examples to explore: http://www.hearthpwn.com/decks/279481-kr...tempo-mage http://www.hearthpwn.com/decks/272918-bu...nder-guide http://www.hearthpwn.com/decks/238828-cheap-tempo-mage You can experiment with the legendary cards you add. Dr.Boom is more of a tempo swing card than a win condition. My recommendations: replace the mechs and silver hand regent, and swap one polymorph.
The initial link isn't functioning. I focused on understanding the meanings you provided regarding deck types. It seems like the goal was to create a versatile deck that works across various trades, which is why I favor mage. When you mention mechs, are you referring to the full mech theme? I'm open to adjusting the tempo and making some tweaks based on your input—keeping it balanced but not too drastic. If needed, I can explore a tempo deck using the resources you shared. A small adjustment might be enough, or I can try a more focused approach with the links provided. Thanks for your guidance.
My spell tower setup isn’t very detailed. My grim warrior deck is mostly standard. My shaman feels a bit generic, like the basic version. I need to remember: the hunter you see is called facehunter. To handle it, start with clear minions first. Use two Sludge Belchers to slow them down. Add a few healing bots or a single healer, and maybe another healer if needed. I’m using both Blizzard and Flamestrike because having two flamestrikes isn’t useful until turn 7.
From your most recent build it appears you still have some unusual card choices (a bit odd). It seems you've shifted from a mech/tempo style to a more balanced mech/control setup. The issue is that mixing different archetypes doesn't always yield strong results at higher levels. Since the details are unclear, it's hard to give precise advice.
The absence of Flamewaker suggests you haven't fully completed Blackrock Mountain (unless you're not using him). If Mage is your main class, consider developing Archmage Antonidas and pairing him with any mana spells for burst power.
For a more standard mech mage deck, remove several high-cost cards: 2x Flamecannons, 2x Sorcerer's Apprentice, 2x Arcane Intellect, 1x Effigy, 1x Polymorph, 1x Azure Drake, 1x Sludge Belcher, 1x Spectral Knight, and 1x Flamestrike. Swap them for 1x Arcane Missile, 2x Cogmaster 1x Frostbolt, 2x Annoy-o-Tron, 2x Spider Tank, 1x Goblin Blastmage, 2x Clockwork Knight 1x Archmage Antonidas.
Other cards that fit well are Clockwork Gnome, Unstable Portal, Fel Reaver, Piloted Sky Golem, Gazlowe, and Kel'Thuzad. Adjust based on what you have available—don't feel obligated to craft everything.
For a Tempo Mage, eliminate all mech-based cards, keep 1x Polymorph, 1x Spectral Knight, and 1x Flamestrike (14 cards total). If you've finished Blackrock Mountain, add 2x Flamewaker. Include 2x Mirror Image, 1x Frost Bolt, 2x Mad Scientist, 1x Sorcerer's Apprentice, 2x Unstable Portal, 2 Mirror Entity, 1x Azure Drake, and 1x Archmage Antonidas.
Other tweaks: remove another Polymorph, Effigy, Flamecannon, or Sludge Belcher, then replace with 2x Arcane Missile and 2x Water Elemental. Feel free to experiment—meta shifts daily, so decks change often.
