Switched from a P8Z68 to a Z97-WS because I'm excited—got a G3258 in the meantime until Broadwell comes out.
For gaming it doesn't matter right now, perhaps, in the future games will stop needing dual cores and only ask for quad cores, so I bought one just to be sure.
Broadwell won't make a significant difference for Haswell in desktop CPUs. My certainty is limited until more information becomes available.
