Hello, I wasn't sure this was the right place to share this, but here we are. I recently bought the Archer C6 router and it’s becoming essential for my Hub 3.0. The problem is that whenever someone downloads something—wireless or connected—it causes lag, making it hard for other devices to use the internet smoothly (even just browsing). There are no settings to adjust, so I can’t fix it myself. We usually download games and other files daily, and having no delays would really help avoid complaints. I’m trying to figure out which settings to turn on or off because there are about 10 devices connected either via Ethernet or Wi-Fi, plus around five people online for gaming, streaming, and general browsing. I’ve heard about Mimo and QoS, but I’m not sure what they do or how to use them. Since I’m not very familiar with this stuff, any simple guidance would be super helpful. Also, it seems QoS needs to be turned off so that NAT Boost can reach its full speed of 900mb/s from each port on the router. I’m not sure if a firmware update fixed this issue.
Execute this test using the provided tool. Navigate to Advanced > QoS, click NAT Boost, uncheck the option, and enable it. Save and then re-run the test. You should receive an A+ result. Adjust the bandwidth values if needed to optimize your speed. The need to disable NAT Boost arises since the SoC can't handle QoS offloading; otherwise, combined download and upload speeds will be constrained by the CPU.
It seems there might be a CPU-related problem, possibly insufficient processing power. Keep in mind that many routers use lower-end CPUs, which limits their capabilities. In certain situations, some features may not work together. Also, with Gigabit Internet, you probably don’t need QoS unless your connection quality is poor, which isn’t the case with my 300/10 speed.
