After the configuration update, the R9 was running with a specific driver version.

I'm planning to use Fedora next. I believe my Ubuntu setup is already faulty, and it's behaving oddly...

Review the blacklisted terms for accuracy. You might also need to adjust the INTI RAM image.

You need to set up Fedora on your 780Ti. Since you can't update the Ubuntu kernel, you'll have to manually install Fedora. Make sure your system meets the requirements before starting.

Consider using dracut with a fedora style or the mentioned command in other distros. Adjust settings in /etc/modprobe.d and create a config file as needed.

I'll check once the Fedora is set up.

The steps are similar for both AMD and Intel CPUs, though you may need to adjust settings depending on your specific motherboard and chipset.

Essentially same, you should use IOMMU instead of AMD. Swap in Radeon and AMD GPU. Not everything is required—like the nested virtual For me it was just to turn IOMMU on in BIOS (I was on AMD AM3 with FX 8350)—install Fedora and Virtual Manager, set up a Windows 10 VM (default settings). Blacklist Nivau too (also worked with 5450). Enable IOMMU in GRUB. Add PCI devices to the VM. You can also try with a network card, sound card, or RAID card since those usually pass through easily.

I installed Fedora and went through the instructions carefully. I changed the PCI-E slots so my POST functions on the 780Ti. Now the R9 doesn’t have any kernel drivers installed. It doesn’t have a Radeon or AMD GPU, and there’s no VFIO enabled either. That’s why it can’t be passed through yet.

The issue seems to be that I got the ID wrong, and now I’m facing another problem where the VM fails to set the iommu for container operations.
