Hello, I'm dealing with stuttering and frame rate drops in every game I play. After weeks of trying to figure out the cause, I've been really frustrated but haven't found a solution. I purchased this PC about 4 or 5 months ago, everything seemed normal then, but recently frames have spiked or microstutters have appeared, ruining my gaming sessions. Initially, I thought it was just noise, but now it's becoming a big issue. This is my first gaming PC, so please help me out. Here are my specs: CPU - Intel Core i5-9400F (6-core, 2.9 GHz), GPU - GIGABYTE GeForce GTX 1660 Super OC 6G, RAM - Team T-FORCE Vulcan Z 3200MHz (16GB total), Storage - 512GB NVMe SSD, Case - NZXT H510, Motherboard - ASRock B365 Phantom Gaming, Cooler - DEEPCOOL GAMMAX GTE V2, Power - EVGA 500W Bronze, WiFi - MSI AX905C. In the videos, stuttering happens every minute. Examples: Example 2, Example 3, Example 4. I'm really desperate, thank you for taking the time to read (sorry for the poor English).

coffee lake i5 cpus and various non-hyperthreaded chips often experience microstutter in many games, particularly slower models like the 9400. this issue is worsened by RAM that can't run at full capacity, and a B365 motherboard capping speeds at 2666MHz instead of the recommended 3200MHz. I don’t know of any solutions to ease this stuttering with your current setup—perhaps someone here has useful suggestions?

It looks like your CPU and GPU usage are similar or higher than expected, which isn't ideal. Could you provide details on utilization per core, VRAM, DRAM, and temperatures? Also, would it help to see temperature readings? For now, consider stopping background applications to improve performance.

I get mixed up because my friend uses the same computer as me and he’s doing fine too—we play the same games and nothing’s wrong.

Sure thing! Here’s a clearer version:

Thanks for the feedback. From what I understand, everything seems fine. The stutters are unusual and unpredictable, so it might be a background program or a game issue. Could you: 1. Make sure no other programs are running 2. Reinstall the game and try again? Also, there’s a spike in Wi-Fi activity—would switching to wired help? Also, does this happen only during online games or also offline? You mentioned only this game in your original post, but you said all games in your message. What types of games are you playing?

I mostly enjoy online games, never offline ones—I'm trying that now anyway.

You're experiencing issues with CPU and GPU usage, which can affect performance. It might be related to your system's resource allocation. Try closing background apps fully and ensure no unnecessary processes are running. If the problem persists, consider checking your GPU settings or updating drivers. Also, verify your internet connection stability.
