Hello everyone, I just bought a new motherboard, CPU, and cooler – MSI MAG X570s Torpedo MAX, AMD 5900X plus a deepcool air cooler. I’m reusing the existing RAM, graphics, SSD, HDD, and PSU. But I keep getting three beeps during startup before the POST beep. Once it boots, everything seems to work fine. I’ve looked up some advice, but I’m not sure if it’s RAM or graphics issues. I’ve tried several fixes: reseating the GPU, using a different PCIe slot, swapping in another GPU, adding more RAM sticks—but the problem persists. Could any of my old parts be causing this? My RAM is Corsair Vengeance LMX 300MHz x2 16GB, GPU is RTX 3080Ti, SSD is Samsung 960 Pro 512GB, HDD is 8TB plus 4TB (believed to be Seagates), PSU is EVGA 1000W Super Nova G2 Modular (9 years old). I’m using BIOS version E7D54AMS-A40 and Windows 11 Pro. I’m hoping someone can help me out here.

Check the motherboard manual for beep codes. Perform a memory test using memtest.

Are your circuit boards equipped with LED indicators to signal issues? (Typically found on X570 models)

Hi. Just a small update. After updating the bios, I ran memtest and the memory passed. One thing I can now rule out. As for the LED lights they go through all 4 then go out. I am now going to install the memory back into the optimal slots and test further as the motherboard may have a dual channel issue. Edit. One thing I didnt mention in the original post was that the issue didnt happen on every boot. Edited November 11, 2023 by mrp_2112 Other Info

Hi, I've been waiting a few weeks thinking the BIOS update fixed the problem. But when I tried to boot this morning, the 3 beeps came back. Any suggestions? I noticed the motherboard has two CPU power headers—one eight-pin and another four-pin—but the PSU only has an 8-pin connector. Didn't think overclocking would cause trouble? Could it be the power supply? Also, the manual doesn’t list any beep codes. Thanks for checking!
