You can adjust the desktop grid to resemble Windows or Mac by changing the grid settings in KDE Plasma. Use the shortcut Ctrl+F8 to access the grid configuration options and customize it according to your preference.

I'm not sure about the details, but I can compare them or list what you need.

I don<|pad|> a real advantage of Windows lies in its functionality. It offers features that enhance user experience and efficiency.

Yes, you're referring to the virtual desktop grid view. It displays all virtual desktops in a grid format, allowing full-screen access. Moving windows between desktops is straightforward. While it lacks the polished appearance, it offers similar functionality. From a practical standpoint, it may be more efficient since you can view and relocate windows across all desktops easily. However, it can become cluttered with many windows on a single desktop or when there are numerous desktops. There might be plugins available for this layout, but I'm not familiar with any.

I understand the virtual desktop grid view and its current use, but I prefer a layout similar to macOS or Windows 10.

The idea popped into my head after using a similar tool on OS X/MacOS, not Windows. It seems like just a visual distraction rather than a useful feature. If anyone knows a plugin for this, please let us know. We could also send a request to KDE/Plasma teams, though I doubt it will get much attention.

I searched online for information about a desktop grid on MacOS, but I'm not sure what term to use.

It's unlikely. The current way KDE handles it, works fine. It's functional and looks nice and simple. In the current Virtual Desktop system. -- Everything goes into a grid. I can drag a window from one desktop to another desktop. You can right click on a window in a desktop in overview mode and make it available to all desktops. You can set the task view in the task bar to show applications from all desktops, in which case it will switch to that desktop when selected from the task overview. If you use latte tasks, it can even tell you what desktop it's on. There are also keyboard shortcuts to switch between Desktops and move applications across desktops without ever going into the overview. Both of which can be set to per desktop shortcuts. -- There is one but it is abandoned and broken, not sure if it was ever finished. If your interested however, here is the project https://github.com/astatide/kwinOverview Could always fork it or use it as reference to make a new kwin script.
