Get a fresh router for better performance.
For some time now my router has been causing issues and the coverage isn't sufficient for my home. I'm looking for a reliable router around $100 this season. My current model is an ASUS RT-N53 4-port dual-band wireless router, but I need something better for a house of this size. It's about 3,000 square feet with walls, drywall, stucco, and a wood frame. I have 10 devices—three iPhones, an iPad, a Surface, two connected TVs, a Wii, a gaming PC, and a car—but most are used at once. Any suggestions?
Position the router at the middle of your house, not where it appears most attractive. A fresh router likely won’t significantly boost Wi-Fi coverage. Consider using repeaters instead.
It's placed in my house and my current router requires a reset daily. It's around five years old and doesn't have any apps, USB ports, or buttons.
ASUS and daily resets... Sounds similar. Yet ASUS offers solid Wi-Fi coverage. I favor TP-Link (Archer C7 or C9), though it might not be the top choice for range. It really comes down to the model, not just the brand. More expensive models tend to perform better. The top routers usually have many antennas for a reason.
Here are the two options you discovered, noted for their solid specifications. Please share your thoughts.
