With my brand-new Thrustmaster wheel for my birthday, I only have a handful of games to try—DiRT Rally, DiRT 3, The Crew (and Wild Run), GRID (the first one), and a bit of Project CARS. I have $40 from my work tips, so I’m looking for more affordable options. I’m considering Assetto Corsa and Project CARS, but I also want something calmer, like American Truck Sim or City Car Driving. Any recommendations that fit under $40.18 would be great!
ATS/ETS provide fun ways to unwind, CCD is mainly a simulator and isn't built for extended sessions, so I wouldn't recommend it. Assetto Corsa and Project Cars are both excellent options, making them stand out as top choices. Apart from that, I don’t have any other suggestions.
It seems ATS and ETS offer a more enjoyable experience to unwind. Even with the quality of iRacing, I don’t really enjoy the subscription model. I tried GRID Autosport, but it felt quite off. My options look like this: ATS paired with Project CARS ETS, ATS plus Project CARS ATS, Assetto Corsa ETS, Assetto Corsa Project CARS, and Assetto Corsa itself. Since both ATS and ETS are more affordable than Assetto Corsa or Project CARS, I might be able to purchase DLC for them or combine ETS with ATS and Project CARS for under $40.
Beam.NG could appeal to those who enjoy relaxed, self-paced gameplay: check it out at the provided link. If you enjoyed DiRT Rally, consider other rally titles like Richard Burns Rally and DiRT 1. These offer a more arcade-like experience with impressive environments crafted by CM. DiRT is no longer available for purchase unless you obtain a Steam key from an independent seller. The car licenses have likely lapsed, prompting CM to remove the listing. Richard Burns Rally stands out as a challenging yet engaging option, still accessible through torrents with community-driven updates to maintain its freshness.
