Generating one USB for Win8.1 setup on both old and new systems
You can start from an old storage device on a UEFI setup. Wouldn't it be better to design a standard MBR or legacy boot disk that supports both old and modern systems?
I’d like to try that—perhaps my USB drives aren’t using the MBR format. I’ll attempt to change it and retry the installation. Thanks!
When setting up a Windows 10 installation via the Media Creation tool, the resulting drive supports booting in two configurations. It's unclear how deep the installation can progress.
You’re proposing a specific configuration, right? It seems to focus on MBR and UEFI settings. Are you checking for performance, compatibility, or something else? I think you might be wondering if Microsoft stopped supporting it around 2014 or 2015, so what’s the issue?
