Which monitor are you using? It needs at least HDR 600 with local dimming for a great desktop display.

It's a Samsung Odyssey with features like HDR1000 and local area dimming. I noticed the Windows screen was becoming washed out. Some older games had texture designs not optimized for HDR, which made certain visual effects appear. They seemed to use these tricks to simplify things and highlight bright spots without complex solutions.
