Generating a virtual network adapter with fake MAC address
Windows Vista introduced a strange rule about MAC spoofing for wireless adapters. Spoofed MAC addresses must start with 02. My licensed app relies on recognizing a specific MAC ID, but the card I have now has changed its MAC address after Dell replaced it. This caused my application to stop functioning. I attempted MAC spoofing, but it failed since the earlier MAC began with D8, which is restricted by Microsoft. I’m seeking a virtual network adapter where I can manually set the MAC ID.
