GeForce performance vs Steam FPS metrics
I tested GeForce’s FPS counter inside GTA V and it reported 30 frames per second. That seemed odd since it looked smoother than that number. I switched to Steam’s FPS tool, which showed 60. My system is a superclocked GTX 780 running on an i7 4790K with high settings. The in-game benchmark numbers range from 60 to 100 fps. Also, the CPU temperatures listed in the game menu are higher than what I feel inside the game—usually around the low 70s on the menu but only the high 50s to low 60s while playing.
They shouldn't be untrustworthy. I've never faced any issues with them before.
It appears the device is operating at over 60 FPS, which matches what you'd expect from Steam. I thought going with an EVGA setup would be more stable, though I haven’t used that method in a while. I’m considering trying a quick test with some frames if it helps.
