Hey, I wonder which ram to buy. I currently have Corsair Vengeance 3000mhz memory on hynix, which causes me stability issues.I cant go higher that 2677. I read a lot and found out that hynix has a problem to work on this motherboard. So I decided to buy a new ram. And here the question arises, so that I could easily get it higher than 3200mhz. I am thinking of b-die sticks: Team Group T-Force NIGHTHAWK LEGEND RGB 3200 MHz CL14 and G.skill flare X 3200MHz CL14. On which of them will I be sure that everything will work this time? If needed, I wanna say that i wanna oc my cpu as possible. Maybe is there any better option. My actual spec: Msi x370 gaming plus Ryzen 5 1600X GTX 1070 Corsair Vengeance 3000MHz CL16.
Ryzen 1000 and 2000 models feature a relatively basic Integrated Memory Controller, which is less advanced than the ones found in Ryzen 3000 and 5000 lines. Running DDR4-3000 with the Ryzen 1600X might be challenging, let alone DDR4-3200. DDR4-2666 and DDR4-2933 were the more typical speeds. Expect maximum all-core clock speeds around 4.0 to 4.2 GHz.
You may obtain a DDR4-3000+ package, but expect limitations when trying to set XMP and reach higher speeds like DDR4-3200. It’s likely you’ll need to manually lower the clock speed—such as to DDR4-2933—to ensure compatibility with your Ryzen 1600X. For newer Ryzen models, consider pairing with a compatible motherboard like the B550. If you upgrade to a newer processor, a B550 board works well with Ryzen 5600X. While B-Die isn’t essential, it’s a plus. Most manufacturers have stopped producing B-Die DDR4, so what remains is stock from DRAM makers like Corsair and G.Skill. Most DDR4-3000 to DDR4-3400 variants (with CL14 or CL16 timings) use B-Die components. If you intend to reuse the kit with a newer CPU, opt for DDR4-3600 or DDR4-3400 instead of DDR4-3200 B-Die. Clock speed and RAM speed both boost performance. Builds using Ryzen 3000 or 5000 series often choose DDR4-3600 CL16 kits. Check these options (many under $100 USD): Crucial Ballistix DDR4-3600, G.Skill RipJaws V DDR4-3600, and others listed.
It's not strictly necessary to upgrade the MOTO, since it supports up to 3200MHz. But if that's the main reason for replacing it with the R5 3600, you might prefer keeping the older one.
