Depending on your perspective, a so-called 'gaming router' might offer more channels and better range or stability overall. I used a standard cable router from my provider and switched to a Netgear Nighthawk, which did improve speeds—though I should note it's mainly for marketing reasons. Just because it mentions gaming doesn't always mean it delivers real benefits; sometimes higher-end routers offer more noticeable advantages.
