I reside in India. Using a mobile hotspot with an Indian SIM card, I experience around 20 Mbps speed while playing online games. My speed is 140ms, whereas Apex reports 115ms on PC. My friend with a 6 Mbps connection sees 60-70ms for Apex and 70ms for PC games. I’m confused about this difference. Also, is a 6 Mbps connection sufficient for online gaming, or should I consider a faster plan?
Speed isn't the same as ping. The network and devices involved affect delay. Wireless usually causes higher latency compared to wired connections. Most online games, aside from loading times, stay under 500Kbps, making even a 6Mbps connection more than enough for gaming.
Ping measures the delay between sending and receiving data, while speed refers to how much information travels per unit of time. 4G uses wireless signals that are more prone to interference and delays, which affect ping. Speed depends on the amount of data transmitted or received.
