I expect to receive the same number of frames with this app. It seems I’m losing roughly 20-30 frames. When running a game in windowed mode, it performs as expected on my hardware. However, forcing the app into full screen mode causes a noticeable drop of 20-30 frames. Using the default full-screen setting matches the performance my system can handle. There’s nothing in the app’s settings that changes this behavior, and I’ve only used it for a few weeks. Since I help with many games that don’t require borderless fullscreen, I’m open to suggestions. I also use GoG games (excluding Galaxy) just in case there are any Steam wired configurations I’m unaware of.
I understand this but I wasn't really making a direct comparison. I was just looking at floating windows versus forcing the app to fill the screen. Even with full-screen borders, if the game supports it, they have the same number of frames as full-screen only when using the app, but I notice frame loss occurs.
Join the discussions here! Borderless looks like a simple window but works differently underneath, offering real speed benefits that go beyond what you'd expect.
