Technically rtx isn’t an acronym in itself. It refers to Ray Tracing Texel Extreme. Ray tracing is a method for creating realistic lighting effects in rendering. DLSS and DLSS 2.0 are artificial intelligence tools that help produce more frames by reducing the workload and letting AI handle some calculations. (This is my current grasp of DLSS, though it may not be fully accurate.) RTX denotes a series of graphics cards from Nvidia that include specialized hardware for ray tracing. Initially, only RTX cards could perform this, but now 16 series and possibly some 10 series models in certain games can also support it, albeit at a lower frame rate. AMD hasn’t released a card with native ray tracing support yet, but RDNA2 GPUs are expected to.
