Right now there’s no indication a game will require more than 12 threads. That hasn’t happened before, which is why I’m considering an 8-core chip for gaming right now. The decision mainly comes down to how much confidence you have in game developers to deliver quality hardware. Personally, I’m skeptical and went with an 8-core instead of a more powerful option.
