Hey everyone, I faced a frustrating issue with my PC that’s been really stressful. After playing a game, my monitor suddenly goes black right after a short while in-game. Even though the system stays powered on, I can’t see anything or interact with the screen. All my peripherals like the mouse and keyboard are still functional, but the display remains dark until I restart the computer. I’ve tried several fixes: re-seating everything, swapping out the GPU, reinstalling graphics drivers via DDU, and even uninstalling/reinstalling drivers completely. It seems to happen mostly during multiplayer games like Valorant or Team Fortress 2, not single-player titles such as Witcher 3. My specs are: Windows 11 Pro 64-bit, 12th Gen Intel Core i9-12900K, RTX 3090, 32GB RAM. I’m not sure if it’s related to the GPU or drivers, but I’m hoping someone can help me resolve this. It might seem a bit odd, but switch to another video cable. If you can manage basic tasks on your computer despite a blank screen, it’s unlikely you’re facing crashes. The inconsistent behavior suggests a faulty cable or connector. Give it another try by plugging the cable into various ports on your GPU. Continue if problems remain, and consider using a different monitor to check if the issue persists.
It's strange you're experiencing black screens on both monitors simultaneously, especially since they're connected differently—HDMI and Display Port.
Tried the suggested changes and changed the display port to HDMI. After about 10 minutes in Val, the graphics driver crashed and displayed an error. The PC blue-screened right after capturing the photo and I had to restart it. Once I opened GeForce Experience to inspect the drivers, the PC froze again so I restarted it too. Now it works with GeForce, but it still shows all my drivers as up to date. The support link points to a crash page for the game, yet after following all the steps there’s still a crash.
Is the issue continuing across different titles? That could mean your graphics card isn't performing well.
