Gaming journalism video covering the topic.
I just saw this video... Here are some of the links he shared, in case you prefer not to watch it on YouTube. Wizardchan Album: http://imgur.com/a/4VOcx Zoepost blog: http://thezoepost.wordpress.com What are your opinions? I believe the current feminist/left-wing trend in gaming is problematic. Gaming should be about enjoyment, not being overly serious or influenced by these ideas. It could harm the industry overall. Regarding Zoe Quinn, it would be nice if GabeN publicly highlighted her work, but one can only hope. P.S.; I’m not sure if this is the best place to post since it covers the gaming industry broadly. Could a mod adjust its category if needed?
The issue discussed isn't mainly about feminism or left-wing views in games. It's more about how the 'new media'—the internet—faces similar challenges as older forms like TV, newspapers, and radio. This includes partisanship and a corrupt system where you can get what you want if you pay or have connections.
It makes sense, I think the point is that those ideologies are more frequently discussed.
The assassins creed unity concept is notable for its limited appeal. Six core titles were released, and no one questioned the male-only lead. The 7th entry sparked a reaction, shifting the tone toward sexism. Major "media" outlets such as Gawker, Gizmodo, and Kotaku reacted strongly, expressing shock. Did Ubisoft respond thoughtfully? Absolutely not. But should Unity’s lack of a female lead be a concern? Not really. Perhaps we should overlook that a recent action RPG featured a female protagonist. We might dismiss the era’s gender norms as outdated. Bioshock Infinite should have included diverse characters, not just a single race. I strongly dislike when feminist ideals and political correctness dominate game design, as it often leads to forced changes that feel more about avoiding controversy than enhancing the experience. People tend to follow these trends just to avoid being labeled as misogynistic, especially when it involves portraying Neanderthals.
The internet is full of absurd individuals, that’s just the norm. Modern feminism’s focus on political correctness and victimhood isn’t new. Tumblr feminists can be quite problematic, and the drama for those who take it too seriously is often comical.
I completely understand your perspective. There are situations where certain platforms or groups only reward high scores when they pay for it. While I believe people should be free to excel regardless of external factors, seeing promotions or advantages based on unfair advantages is frustrating. This has occurred in my workplace too, and it’s often dismissed as nothing until it becomes a clear issue. I see progress only when things move forward in a fair direction.
Impressive! After six months it finally came to pass, and it really did. This is something truly special—better than anything from School Days or its adaptations.
