I've been checking online and YouTube about several processors. I noticed the AMD Ryzen 5 3600X performs well for gaming, but at a shop they suggest switching to the Ryzen 7 because it offers more cores and threads for drawing programs. They also mention price differences between models. For instance, the Ryzen 7 2700X is priced lower than the 5 3600X, while the 7 3700X is significantly more expensive. I’m still not very familiar with AMD CPUs, so any advice would be appreciated.

It should be about a 10% variation from 2700X to 3700X. Clearly, the slight rise in IPC diminishes the appeal of a $300+ price. Keep an eye on November 5th. When Zen 3 arrives, you might find better deals on older models like the 3700X, and a 5800X could seem much more attractive.

At 450 dollars, it seems he likely doesn’t have enough for that. The cost varies based on the software and its complexity. Using just one or two main components makes a 3600 more appealing. Also, the GPU matters—lower-end or mid-range cards won’t show much difference in performance. Share more details.

I’m familiar with a GTX 1050 Ti but don’t know much about its internal design details.

The app you use offers a significant performance boost thanks to the GPU.

Consider upgrading your MT GPU later, perhaps with a 3000 series model such as the 3070. It's possible a 3060 might be released soon.
