Hello everyone,
If you notice any problems with this message, please inform me. I haven’t shared this before and have been trying to figure out what’s happening with my computer. I’m at a loss right now.

My PC runs Windows 11 with a Ryzen 7 7900X processor, an Asus 4070 Ti motherboard, an MSI X670-P with Wi-Fi 6, 4x 16GB DDR5 RAM, M.2 slots, and two SSDs: one 1TB Samsung EVO Plus and another 500GB Samsung EVO 1200W. I previously used a Radeon 6800X but it stopped working because the GPU overheated constantly (over 100°C) and would freeze. After switching to an older 1080Ti card, everything worked fine.

Now I’m experiencing similar problems with my new 4070Ti.

The main issues are:

- While gaming or browsing in a web browser, the performance drops suddenly. It restarts itself, but only when I switch tabs. The background effects from the wallpaper engine also cause stuttering.
- During long gaming sessions, I can maintain over 360 FPS without any interruptions. But once it freezes, it drops to around 45 FPS and then resumes smoothly afterward. It seems random and doesn’t happen during normal gameplay.

I’ve tried many fixes: a clean Windows install, changed power supply, reset CMOS, updated BIOS, even used a fresh Windows from another machine. Swapping the PSU to an 850W one didn’t help. The issue persists, which makes me think there might be a problem with my motherboard.

I’m really hoping someone can help me out. Gaming and relaxing are my best ways to unwind, and this is frustrating. Thanks for any advice you can give!

The 1080ti didn't show sudden drops, but I haven't run it again in about a week. It sometimes stuttered when trying to play games and watch videos. I think this was an issue with the original model when it launched. The other PC only handles one task at a time—either gaming or streaming services.

You haven’t made any changes yet. Since you’ve completely wiped the PC, removed all partitions, and reformatted the M.2 drives, a DDU (data reset) isn’t required unless you need to restore specific data.

I'll attempt it now and look for improvements, especially regarding the stuttering. Unfortunately, I won't be able to assess the random FPS drop because it's too late to run a sufficient test.

The stuttering problem continues even when using only the two RAM modules and without MPO enabled.
