Hi there! I need some help finding a good overclocker. I want to turn my i7-9700KF up to 5GHz safely with safe voltage and temps. I have this motherboard, Gigabyte Z370-HD3P rev 10 at https://www.gigabyte.com/Motherboard/Z37...-rev-10#kf. Can you tell me all the steps? I want to get 5GHz on my G-Skyline with a Noctua NH-D14 cooler. Thanks so much! Lukas
Basically, it all depends on your CPU quality but you can likely get speeds between 4.9 GHz and 5 GHz by changing the multiplier to 49, setting vcore to 1.3v, and keeping everything else set to auto. You just need to study a little more to hit stable higher speeds. I personally never go over 1.35v, and most CPUs have a limit around 1.4v. For temperatures, use the HardwareInfo tool to watch temps and voltages while running Cinebench R20 to see how scores match up with other 9700K computers. This will make things hotter. Anything under 80 degrees Celsius during tests is good, but you can go higher if you want a bit more heat now that you're pushing the limits. Features like LLC get involved as you overclock further, and I've listed some helpful guides below to explain this better. Hi, thanks for your help! I put this setting on my BIOS. CPU clock ratio is 47 and uncore ratio is 47. XMP is set to 3200Mhz. VT-d is turned off. Ring to core offset (down bin) is off. Speed shift technology is off. CPU enhanced halt (C1E) is off. C3 state support is off. C6, C7, and C8 states are all off. C10 is also off. CPU load line calibration is auto. The CPU vcore is set to 1.30V in the BIOS. When I started OCCT, it showed me this. https://ibb.co/PxCD2Rv Why does CPU VCore show as 1.42V even though I set it to 1.30 in the BIOS?
I put everything back to the default settings and only changed my RAM profile to XMP. After a few minutes in World of Tanks, these results came up. Is this normal? I don't know why my CoreVid is maxing out at 1.43 volts.
Hey guys, what's next? When I want to jump into 4.9GHz frequencies, that's why I'm doing this because I play Guild Wars 2. So, what do I have to do? I think I had a little higher voltage back when I loaded the default BIOS and only enabled my XMP profile (max 1.432V). Is it possible to get those speeds safely with safe voltages?
