Games underperforming?
Guys, I’m not sure if this is the best spot to share this, but I’ll give it a shot.
I’m running Black Ops 4 on an RTX 2080 at low settings in 1080p, aiming for the highest possible FPS. The issue is I’m consistently hitting around 120fps, but often falling below 100.
I’m not sure why this is happening. Here’s what I have:
- Ryzen 5 2600
- RTX 2080
- 16GB RAM at 3000MHz
- MSI B450M B550M motherboard
- 750W EVGA 80+ Gold PSU
It seems like the CPU isn’t being limited while playing. What might be causing this performance?
Who would buy such a powerful graphics card and play at the lowest settings in 1080p? At this point, it's more like a CPU issue, probably because the game isn't utilizing all six cores. Even at the highest resolution of 1440p, you're unlikely to notice a significant difference in frames per second.
It seems you're encountering a limitation on your CPU at around 100-120 frames per second. However, you can still boost graphics settings without sacrificing performance. A CPU that excels in single-threaded performance, like most Intel models, would be more suitable.
It might be due to certain adjustments raising CPU usage too. For instance, expanding the view range or enhancing details can lead to more draw calls, which the CPU must process.
