Games suddenly stop working after a typical playthrough and continue to fail unless the system is rebooted
Recently I've observed that several memory-heavy games frequently crash unless I reboot Windows. I've seen using a tool named "Intelligent Standbylist Cleaner" clear the cache and get the games running again, though the fix is temporary. This might point to a memory problem, and restarting seems to resolve it quickly.
It appears your system has some memory concerns. Could you share your current configuration? Also, does XMP support exist? With just two sticks, are they properly placed in the DIMM slots? During a restart—particularly after a power-off—the memory is reset from the RAM sticks, which can create additional space.
XMP? I haven’t used anything like that before. I have two 8GB drives—one 2666 and one 2400—but they work fine together at 2400 when connected. I haven’t experienced any problems for almost two years since installing them. Only recently did I notice bluescreens and crashes. When I checked, everything seemed secure, but reseating them didn’t fix the issue. I really hope it’s not a costly problem because I don’t have much money right now.
